First let me say that a generous family member bought us these groceries. He just wanted to be able to do that for us :)
My first stop was at Kroger. They are having a Mega Sale in which you buy 10 participating items, get $5 off instantly. I bought 20 participating items so I got $10 off instantly!
Here is a picture of everything I bought:
3 boxes of GM cereal
4 boxes of GM cereal treats
4 bottles of simply lemonade
2 bottles of Kraft salad dressing
2 cups of Velveeta shells n cheese
2 bags of Tyson chicken nuggets
2 boxes of gogurt
1 package of Bologna
1 3-pk of Scotch Brite pads
Once I got to walmart, there were several things I had planned on purchasing that were not available and a few things that weren't on sale. Here are my purchases:
OOP: $5.26
Saved: $5.48
4 Hersheys bars (NOT pictured)
2 Neutrogena cleansing wipes (travel)
1 Goody's headache powder
My original scenario would've had me walking out the door not paying a dime!
My third and final stop was at CVS. I'll go ahead and show you everything I got, but just so you know, most of it was not on sale! The only things I got a deal on was the Softsoap Body wash ($.24) Ritz Crackerfuls (FREE!), and Milk ($1.89). Here is my whole purchase though:
Saved: $23.31
2 boxes of GM cereal
All together, I saved 50% that day. Not too bad for my first major shopping day with coupons. Considering I didnt have too many coupons for grocery items, id say i did pretty good. So can you! Just hit the sale items :)
