Couponing Newb

Hey yall, It’s been a CRAZY long time since I’ve posted here. I’m going to start posting my savings adventures. I’ve started couponing and I like to be able to break my purchases down somewhere, so why not share that with yall? Enjoy!

First let me say that a generous family member bought us these groceries. He just wanted to be able to do that for us :)

My first stop was at Kroger. They are having a Mega Sale in which you buy 10 participating items, get $5 off instantly. I bought 20 participating items so I got $10 off instantly!

Here is a picture of everything I bought:

Retail value: $63.18
OOP: $34.22
Saved: $28.96
3 boxes of GM cereal
4 boxes of GM cereal treats
4 bottles of simply lemonade
2 bottles of Kraft salad dressing
2 cups of Velveeta shells n cheese
2 bags of Tyson chicken nuggets
2 boxes of gogurt
1 package of Bologna
1 3-pk of Scotch Brite pads

My second stop was at Walmart. It didn't go as planned at all really. Saturday night, I checked the coupon matchups at Saving Well Spending Less and made a list of what my purchases would be. Sunday morning I was going through the coupons in the paper, and saw that there were some coupons that werent in my inserts that I had been counting on. So, I had to rework my lists, but thats okay. With couponing you need to be able to adjust your strategy and move forward.

Once I got to walmart, there were several things I had planned on purchasing that were not available and a few things that weren't on sale. Here are my purchases:

Retail value: $10.74
OOP: $5.26
Saved: $5.48

4 Hersheys bars (NOT pictured)
2 Neutrogena cleansing wipes (travel)
1 Goody's headache powder

My original scenario would've had me walking out the door not paying a dime!

My third and final stop was at CVS. I'll go ahead and show you everything I got, but just so you know, most of it was not on sale! The only things I got a deal on was the Softsoap Body wash ($.24) Ritz Crackerfuls (FREE!), and Milk ($1.89).  Here is my whole purchase though:

Retail Value: $41.43
OOP: $18.12
Saved: $23.31

2 boxes of GM cereal
4 cans of doritos
1 box of Ritz Crackerfuls
1 gallon of milk
1 bag of candy corn
1 Softsoap Bodywash

All together, I saved 50% that day. Not too bad for my first major shopping day with coupons. Considering I didnt have too many coupons for grocery items, id say i did pretty good. So can you! Just hit the sale items :)

First ShoeDazzle Purchase!

Well Friday I finally got my first pair of ShoeDazzle shoes! I ordered the 'Vogue' in Pewter. A few hours after, she was SOLD OUT and has been ever since!! If you arent familiar with ShoeDazzle, head on over to my post explaining it HERE.

This is what SD has to say about Vogue:

This glossy faux patent-leather peep-toe pump gleams in the spotlight.
The second installment of our exclusive Signature Sole Collection is truly en Vogue. Its bright pink sole is eye catching, and its peep toe is super-sultry. Opt for a dress in a radiant jewel tone, like a belted fuchsia sheath or a flowy silk minidress in royal blue. A classic satchel will match the shoe’s elegance.

About Vogue:

  • Faux-leather peep-toe platform pump .
  • True-to-size.
  • 4" Heel (inside measurement), 1.25" platform.
  • Also comes in Black/White & Black/Turquoise.
My thoughts:

This being my first Shoe Dazzle order, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I spent a lot of time on their Facebook page, reading about other customers experiences and opinions. I saw some ladies have trouble with defects, so I got a little worried.

Im pretty happy with the Vogue. It did have some defects, but nothing I cant live with. Unless you are looking for them, you really wont see them. I know that if I had wanted to return them, it would have been a very simple & easy process. Shoe Dazzle has FANTASTIC customer service.  Considering I haven't really worn HIGH heels like these in a long time, they turned out to be fairly comfy. Over all, Im happy with my purchase and will continue to buy from SD!!

~ SHOES ~

Okay, so I know I haven't posted much but life has been pretty boring lately. I will be doing a video soon just to update on little things though.

However, I have discovered a couple new favorite websites! Shoe Dazzle & Just Fabulous!!!!!!  These two websites are basically shoe clubs. They sell shoes, purses, jewelry and on occasion, they sell clothes! So, let me explain how it works for all you shoe & purse lovers out there!

All this is in the Terms of Service, you can skip all this and get to the goodies below, if you like.

It is a 'club' that you sign up for. Everything is $39.95 a month. You are NOT required to pay the monthly fee, you CAN skip months. You are not charged until you make your first purchase. After that, you will be charged $39.95 a month (unless you choose to skip that month).

When you sign up, you will take a style quiz to determine your taste in shoes/purses. At the beginning of each month the sites stylists will determine what shoes to put in your 'showroom'. You receive an email letting you know that you have new selections and reminding you to go choose or to 'skip the month'.  You have until the 5th of the month to decide to skip or not. If you choose to skip, NO CHARGE! If you do not skip, 39.95 is charged to the card you provided, and a credit will be applied to your account, for you to then select a product (shoe, purse, etc.)!

Here you should start reading Again!

Like I said, you are not charged until you make the 1st purchase. After that, it is all about you choosing to skip the month or not. For every purchase you make, you get points towards a FREE credit (i.e. pair of shoes)! Shipping is free to U.S. and their customer service is AWESOME!
